About our Nursery
At Little Mead Nursery we create an environment that is engaging, safe and fun. The children are encouraged to explore and learn through a balance of adult led activities and child-initiated play. We review the children’s development and needs daily and provide resources that enable them to discover new ideas, build upon their individual knowledge and understanding and experiment with ways of carrying out different tasks.
We want to enable them to be confident and independent learners who can communicate clearly and to develop understanding and positive relationships with peers and adults.
How to apply for a place
Little Mead Primary Academy manages its own Nursery admissions. If you wish to apply for a Nursery place, please contact the school office.
We welcome enquiries regarding admissions throughout the school year. We hold regular tours for prospective parents and pupils, please contact the school office to book your visit.
Free 15 Hours for 3 & 4 year olds
All 3-4 year olds in England are entitled to free 15 hours a week childcare at an Early Years setting.
At Little Mead Primary Academy, we welcome application forms throughout the year.
We have 3 enrollment dates in our Nursery each year:
- Children who are 3 on or after 31st August - Start Nursery in September
- Children who are 3 on or after 31st December - Start Nursery in January
- Children who are 3 on or after 31st April - Start Nursery in April
The free 15 hours are organised over 2½ days:
- Group A - Monday and Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning
- Group B - Wednesday afternoon and Thursday and Friday all day
Nursery Opening times are:
- All day sessions - 9.00am to 3.30pm
- Wednesday mornings - 9.00am to 12.00pm
- Wednesday afternoons - 12.30pm to 3.30pm
30 hours free childcare
Some children may be eligible for 30 hours free childcare a week. To find out more, visit the GOV.UK website.
Additional Paid Sessions
If there are places available, families can pay for additional sessions. These cost cost £20 per session (i.e. morning or afternoon) or £40 per day. These sessions are paid in advance, each term.
