Uniform
Our school uniform reflects the vision and culture of Little Mead Primary Academy; it reinforces the high expectations and aspirations we hold for all our pupils. It is important that all pupils adhere to our school uniform expectations as this is just one of the ways in which we identify as a school community and promote a sense of cohesive identity.
We have a school uniform for a number of reasons:
Equality School uniforms promote a sense of equality amongst the school community. All pupils are expected to adhere to the school’s uniform guidelines. It reduces social status comparisons and reduces distractions.
Unity A school uniform unites all members of the school community and supports pupils in feeling they belong to their school and their school belongs to them.
Pride School uniforms look smart and professional. They encourage pupils to take pride in their appearance and help them be ready to learn. Pupils are focused on striving for success.
Main Uniform
Our school uniform consists of:
- Navy blue sweatshirt or cardigan with school logo
- White shirt or polo shirt (with or without school logo)
- Grey or black trousers, skirt or pinafore dress (grey or black shorts and blue gingham dress in the summer)
- Sensible black shoes or trainers
- Navy blue or black hijab
- Blue and gold striped tie (Y6 pupils only)
For safety reasons jewellery is not allowed (apart from stud earrings and a watch).
Please ensure children come to school with weather appropriate outdoor wear i.e. a warm waterproof coat, a hat and scarf, gloves, a sun hat.
PE Kit
Our school PE kit consists of:
- Navy blue or black shorts, leggings or joggers
- White t-shirt
- Daps or trainers
Children are usually asked to wear their PE kit to school on the days that they have a PE lesson.
Lost Property
In order to reduce the amount of property your child misplaces in school, we kindly ask parents to ensure all items including water bottles and coats are marked with the student’s full name.
If students do lose an item, please remind them to check in the lost property box by the school office.
Small, valuable items such as keys, watches, glasses and phones are held in the school office.
Unfortunately not every item is collected, and we are unable to store items for longer than a term.
Uniform Orders
You can purchase Little Mead logo uniform online at Monkhouse Website. Alternatively, you can book an appointment to visit the store and try on the uniform.
Non-logo uniform can be purchased from most local supermarkets.
Our PTA hold regular second hand uniform sales for parents to buy uniform cheaply.
